## What’s the difference between Wink and Ipsos?

Ipsos is a global research company that sells brand health tracking as a custom service, with its own equity models and an expert report. Wink runs one standard monthly tracker for one category in one country, at a published price. Both survey consumers to track how your brand performs against competitors. What they have in common:

- Done for you

Ipsos says of Brand Health Essentials that "our experts handle the complexity". Wink builds the questionnaire, translations, quotas and pilot.

- Competitor benchmarking

Both report your brand against the competition in your category.

- Quality checks on responses

Ipsos lists checks including digital fingerprinting, speeding and straightlining. Wink screens out bad responses so they never count.

## How does pricing compare?

Ipsos doesn’t publish a price for brand tracking. Its Brand Health Essentials page calls it “affordable and accessible” without a figure (checked 18 October 2026).

Ipsos does publish prices for its self-serve research platform, Ipsos.Digital: its October 2025 bundle offer for Romania gives €960 as the least expensive study run there. Those are one-off studies, not a tracker.

Wink publishes one monthly price per tracker for each market, on the [pricing page](https://winkhq.com/pricing/).

## How do the trackers measure your brand?

Ipsos builds its tracking on named models. Its brand equity pages describe Brand Value Creator, which measures “brand desire”, Brand Mental Networks, which captures unprompted perceptions in people’s own words, Brand Signals, which adds social listening, and Activation Impact Modelling, which measures what campaigns do to brand metrics. On its Brand Health Essentials page, Ipsos says its Brand Desire metric is validated against real-world sales data “across dozens of categories and countries”.

Wink uses [one twelve-section survey](https://winkhq.com/#how-it-works) of about eight minutes for every tracker: unprompted then aided awareness, imagery in the respondent’s own words, consideration, investigation where the category supports it, usage, preference, statements, media habits and profile. Respondents are real people screened into your category, quota-controlled and weighted. The Ipsos tracking pages we checked name its panels (54 owned panels, 5.3 million members) but not how many people a tracker surveys or how often.

## Is Wink an alternative to Ipsos in South Africa?

Yes. Ipsos has an office in Johannesburg, a South African brand health tracking service line (named in a 2022 announcement), and offers Brand Activation Tracking there, so it suits brands that want a custom programme run locally.

Wink suits a brand that wants a fixed monthly price and a ready-built survey: South African category buyers with quotas by age, gender and province, in English and other South African languages, with prices in rand.
