What’s the difference between Wink and Attest?

Both survey consumers to track your brand against competitors over time. Attest is a self-serve research platform: you build a tracker from its template, choose the audience and cadence, and pay in credits that also cover any other surveys you run. Wink builds and runs one monthly tracker for one category in one country, at a published price. What they have in common:

Unaided awareness
Attest's brand tracker template asks unprompted and prompted awareness. Wink asks unprompted awareness first, then aided.
Fresh respondents each wave
Attest applies a three-month exclusion automatically on multi-wave surveys. Wink keeps each respondent out of your survey for three months.
Your whole team gets access
Attest's plans include unlimited seats. Wink has no seat fees.
Annual commitment
Attest's credits expire after the 12-month period. Wink has a 12-month minimum term.

How does pricing compare?

Attest doesn’t publish prices. Its pricing page lists credit tiers (Basic up to 50 000 credits, Standard up to 100 000, Elite up to 200 000, and Custom), each through a demo or sales, as of 18 October 2026. One credit is one answer to one question from one person, so a tracker’s cost depends on its length, sample and how often it runs. Top-ups cost more per credit.

Wink publishes one monthly price per tracker, covering the baseline, monthly waves, up to five competitors, the portal and reports, on the pricing page.

Who builds and runs the tracker?

With Attest your team does. Its brand tracker page says research managers “offer strategic advice on customising your brand tracker”, and the template starts from your brand and competitor list. You can change the sample size before each wave, and Attest calculates significance between waves for you.

With Wink, Wink does. It builds the questionnaire and translations, agrees quotas and weighting, and pilots it, then runs a wave every month. Your part is a kickoff call, a competitor list and sign-off on the category definition.

Is Wink an alternative to Attest in South Africa?

Yes. Attest can reach South Africa: it’s one of the 59 countries on its list, in English. Wink’s South African tracker surveys category buyers with quotas by age, gender and province, offers the survey in English and other South African languages, and prices in rand.
