What’s the difference between Wink and Latana?

Both track how people in a market see your brand against its competitors, with the survey set up for you and results in a dashboard. They differ on who they survey, how many brands the price covers, sample size and markets. What they have in common:

Setup is done for you
Latana's onboarding covers category, KPIs, segments and competitors with a customer success manager and a project manager. Wink builds, translates and pilots the questionnaire.
Twelve-month contracts
Both start at a 12-month term. Latana also offers a low-cost trial.
Uncertainty is shown
Both put a margin of error on every result.
Your whole team gets access
Latana's Essential plan includes unlimited users. Wink has no seat fees.

How does pricing compare?

Latana publishes starting prices in euros per market per year: €7 900 for Essential and €18 900 for Pro, on its pricing page as of 18 October 2026. Latana says the final price depends on market complexity, incidence and brand size, and that more brands and modules cost extra.

The brand count is the thing to compare. Essential covers four brands, so your brand and three competitors. Pro covers six, the same as Wink’s single price. Wink’s prices for every market are on the pricing page.

How do Wink and Latana find respondents?

Latana reaches smartphone users through survey questions shown in ads, as described on its data collection page, across what its help centre calls a diverse set of 40 000 apps and websites. It then models the results with multilevel regression and post-stratification (MRP), according to its data processing page. Its FAQ also describes a second channel through panel partners, who do reward respondents.

Wink screens real people into your category before they answer, sets quotas and weights the results, and keeps each person out of your survey for three months after they answer.

The difference shows up in unaided awareness. Latana’s own May 2025 tests found that people answering without an incentive name one or two brands. Latana says incentivised respondents usually name three to five, which makes unaided awareness from the two methods “incomparable”. Its FAQ says unaided awareness is “best suited for brands with high awareness levels”, and that brands below 20% awareness see unaided rates of 0 to 0.5%. Wink asks unaided awareness in every survey, before any brand is shown.

Is Wink an alternative to Latana in South Africa?

Yes. Latana claims 150+ markets but its pricing and method pages list none of them, so ask it to confirm South Africa before you compare. Wink tracks South Africa with quotas by age, gender and province, a survey in English and other South African languages, and prices in rand on the pricing page.
